Auditions for "The Birth of Merlin" and "The Voraxium"
Open call for actors: Who: Catclaw Theatre Company Where: The 6th & Oak building, 6th & Oak, Louisville When: Sunday, April 13, from Noon to 4pm (will be extended past 4pm if necessary) ---------------------------------------------------- 1. "The Birth of Merlin", alleged to be by William Shakespeare and William Rowley Casting for all parts. Please prepare one Shakespearean monologue, 2 minutes max. Please prepare to use your full voice. Bring photo/resume to the audition. We need a printed photo/resume (needn't be fancy or glossy) even if you also bring us a CD. We will also see a short example of any special talents (clowning, singing, musical instrument, etc.) if you wish. 2 minutes maximum. You must be available from May 1 to June 23. All actors will be paid a small stipend. ----------------------------------------------------- 2. "The Voraxium" Open and ongoing casting for various talent. "The Voraxium" is similar to Burlesque and Vaudeville, both old-school and modern, but also with a socially subversive streak lacking in the aforementioned. Any sort of variety-show act you can conceive of will be entertained. Song, dance, striptease, skits, routines, comedy, puppets, avant-garde performance, monologues, improv, fire-eating, ventriloquism, unspeakable acts, etc. 4 minutes maximum for the audition, regardless of duration of actual act. Bring photo/resume to the audition. We need a printed photo/resume (needn't be fancy or glossy) even if you also bring us a CD. There will be no nudity at this audition, even if your act calls for it. Availability is open-ended as there will be multiple Voraxium variety shows performed this year, dates to be announced. ----------------------------------------------------- Openings for crew positions will be discussed on a one-on-one basis with applicants via e-mail.
